Genesis 1: Creation - God

‘Genesis’ means ‘origin’ – so while it’s the story of humanity’s origin, it actually starts before that: Genesis shows us the origin of the very world itself! In the book’s first chapter, we see God’s original design for the world he created, and all within it. As we walk through the first five days of creation, we’ll see that Eden is a garden; it’s a kingdom; and it’s a promise. Through these three realities, we see who God is and what he intended for life on earth, even before humans! We’ll see Jesus foreshadowed as the one to fulfill all three images. And we’ll consider how we can pursue glimpses of all three, in our everyday lives today.
