Genesis 10: Nations - Babel

If Genesis 3 - 7 saw brokenness and sin destroy the beauty of God’s original creation, Genesis 8 - 10 sees the brokenness and sin destroy the beauty of God’s re-creation. The story of Babel shows the pinnacle of self-protection, self-preservation, and self-provision… which are all things that humans strive for today. We also see how those things oppose God’s design, and his desire to better protect, better preserve, and better provide for us. We engage the tension as we see patterns of humanity and seeds of division. And we also see that even in scattering his people, God has a redemptive plan to gather them back together through Christ and unify them for all eternity.
